Bounds Green has no conservation area of its own, so the best official description is Haringey Council's Urban Character Study (2015). For the wider Wood Green neighbourhood it says "Victorian housing in the form of terraces and villas is the predominate housing stock", with interwar semis and short terraces on larger plots towards the north-west, post-war estates, and a number of tower blocks along Bounds Green Road. The land rises towards Bounds Green, which the study puts at 200ft (Haringey Council, Urban Character Study: Green Lanes and Wood Green; introduction, checked 26 October 2026).
- Interwar semis usually have a front garden or drive, so the vehicle can often stop close. We still check the width of the drive and the street.

Parking
Parking on Moving Day in Bounds Green
N11 crosses three councils. Haringey's study notes that Bounds Green Brook "flows to the north-west along the borough boundary with Barnet and Enfield", so your postcode alone won't tell you whose rules apply. Most of Bounds Green is in Haringey, and its two zones have short hours: Bounds Green (BG) runs Monday to Friday, 10am to 12 noon, and Bounds Green East (BGE) Monday to Friday, 11am to 1pm. The neighbouring Alexandra Palace (AP) zone runs Monday to Friday, 12 noon to 2pm. Parking is free outside those hours and on bank holidays (Haringey Council: all CPZ hours, checked 26 October 2026).
- Short zone hours help. A move that loads outside the controlled window, or on a Saturday, often needs no suspension in these zones. We plan the loading around it.
- Haringey suspends bays for removals: apply online at least 2 weeks ahead. It's £80 per single car space per day plus a £280 administration fee (Haringey Council: apply for a parking bay suspension, checked 26 October 2026).
- On the Enfield side, house moves aren't a listed reason for a suspension. Enfield offers a moving-house dispensation instead, at £10 per vehicle for one week, applied for by email (Enfield Council: parking suspensions, checked 26 October 2026).
- On the Barnet side, Barnet suspends bays at £69.63 per bay per day plus a £171.39 administration fee, or offers a moving-home dispensation (Barnet Council: suspensions and dispensations).

- Red routes are run by TfL, not the council: moving house is a listed reason for a TfL red route dispensation, at £48 a day per vehicle on red lines or £38 in a bay, with at least 6 working days' notice (checked 26 October 2026).
