Removals in Kentish Town
Stucco terraces, converted flats and a busy high road where shops open straight onto the pavement. We plan the parking and the loading window before moving day, and confirm a written price based on an agreed inventory.
The homes
What Kentish Town Homes Mean for Moving Day
Camden Council's appraisal of the Kentish Town conservation area, around Leighton Road and Leverton Street, describes Leighton Road as "lined with houses and flats with front gardens or grounds, and two to four storeys high", with early 19th-century houses "typically in stucco with some brick". Leverton Street is "a composition of coloured stuccoed houses", the streets to the north form a grid, and Railey Mews has converted mews houses and small warehouses. On Kentish Town Road itself, shops "open straight onto the pavement" (Camden Council, Kentish Town Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Strategy, 2011, checked 26 October 2026).
- Houses of up to four storeys, many split into flats, mean shared stairs and no lift. See our guide to moving out of a flat conversion.
- Kentish Town Road is a busy shopping street with no front gardens, so a flat above a shop needs a planned stop and a quick, continuous load.
- Mews and small private roads, such as the unmade lane to Torriano Cottages, limit vehicle size. We check the approach at both addresses.
Zones
Kentish Town's Parking Zones
Most of NW5 is in Camden's CA-M East Kentish Town zone, controlled Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.30pm. Towards Camden Town, around Kentish Town West station and Prince of Wales Road, the CA-F(n) Camden Town zone runs much later: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 11pm, and 9.30am to 11pm at weekends (Camden Council open data: controlled parking zones, checked 26 October 2026). Boundaries run street by street, so check yours with Camden's street search.
A Saturday or Sunday move in CA-M usually avoids the controls altogether. In CA-F(n) it doesn't, so a suspension is often worth booking there.
Parking
Parking on Moving Day in Kentish Town
Kentish Town is in the London Borough of Camden. Camden suspends parking spaces for removals: book online at least 17 days in advance. For a house move there's no space charge for the first day only (up to 3 consecutive spaces) and no short-notice charge, but the £66.66 administration charge still applies (Camden Council: parking bay suspensions, checked 23 October 2026).
- After day 1, Camden charges per space per day by the length of the suspension, from £79.63 for 1 day to £87.61 a day for 2 to 5 days (same page).
- Suspensions are marked on the street by yellow warning signs, and you give the registration numbers of all the vehicles using the spaces.
- A trade permit at £51.86 a day may meet your needs instead: it's valid in resident bays and on single yellow lines, but not on red routes (Camden Council: trade permits, checked 23 October 2026).
- Loading: any vehicle may load or unload for up to 20 minutes in a resident permit bay, and never on yellow lines with double kerb markings (Camden Council: loading and unloading).
- Find your zone with Camden's street search. Hours vary from zone to zone.
- Red routes are different. Councils don't suspend red routes. On TfL red routes, moving house is a listed reason for a dispensation: £48 a day per vehicle on red lines or £38 in a bay, with at least 6 working days' notice (TfL red route dispensations, checked 23 October 2026).
Tell us your street when you ask for a quote, and we'll advise whether a suspension, a trade permit or a timed loading window makes most sense.
